You might have already read my page on this site: ‘A day in the life of a Lobster Fisherman and His Captain…’ – about an exciting day I spent with Buddy and Cindy on their 26′ World Cat – Bottom Time. Check out that page if you want the history of how an American girl was lured to the Bahamas. Cindy and Buddy have been close friends since we built our first house in Abaco in 2005. They live down the beach at Casuarina Point.
BONEFISHING WITH BUDDY
Buddy was born and raised in Abaco, so not only is he fun to be around, he has vast knowledge to share. He has more than 20 years of professional guiding experience, and he is a certified guide in the Bahamas and also has Orvis certification. He has a following – so plan ahead to be sure you can get in his schedule.
What do Buddy & Cindy do when they have a day off??? THEY GO FISHING! Fishing in the wilderness known as The Marls (Marls National Park) is an experience not to be missed! I was lucky enough to be invited to spend a morning in the Marls as an observer (since I don’t fish). What a beautiful, peaceful place!
The custom designed and equipped flats boats allows exploring and fishing in extremely shallow water. (These are not current pictures, so this is not his current boat.) Once at the fishing spot, Buddy stands on the poling platform and quietly poles as he scans for tailing fish. The bow of the new boat has a padded leaning bar to comfort and security for the fishermen. Bring your equipment, but if you can’t – Buddy can provide everything you need – no additional charge.
Buddy is still working as a bonefishing guide, but they now spend their other effor on their Big Bird Chicken Farm. The pictures and information below are about an excursion they used to offer. I am keeping it on this page, because it will give you an idea of things you can do with other people who take day charters. If you need ideas, check with me.
ISLAND HOPPING and SPEARFISHING/SNORKELING ON BOTTOM TIME
A EXCITING and fun way to spend a day in Abaco! Two families charted Buddy and Cindy to take them spearing and snorkeling at Cross Harbour – SOUTH Abaco. It was a GREAT day, and the visitors were successful spearfishing – as you can see! The children LOVED it!…they all did! It was an exhausting, SPECIAL day that they will never forget!
They will customize a trip and take you where you want to go with the activities of your choice. Book your experience now!…so you can get on their calendar.
